BLOOD TRANSFUSION BAG TRACKING In hospital operation transport of blood transfusion bag is crucial to ensure proper delivery on time. It is there- fore important to not just send transfusion bags with the pneumatic tube system but also to monitor carriers which have arrived at the receiving station. Secure receive With our secure receive function arriving carriers wi be kept locked inside the station until an authorized user presents a ID card to the station. This enables to ► ID of user who has received the carrier ► Time when the user has released the carrier from User identification via ID card Real time monitoring Protocol with all details on all transactions available Online Monitoring The laboratory will have a PC-monitoring system for real time monitoring of actual transactions. For a quick overview stations which have a carrier in secure hold will on the system layout be shown in yellow color. For details the following information will be available for each transaction: sender number and sender name ► receiver number and receiver name ► time and date of departure ► time and date of arrival ► time and date of carrier release from receiving station This enables laboratory staff to monitor accurately if sent carriers have been collected by recipients and to take action in case of delay of collection.
